It is very common that throughout our lives, especially during the first 20 years, some harmless skin bumps that we know as a mole can grow. Although they are usually of a brown tone, these small lumps can also arise with a whitish color or very similar to that of our skin. These types of bumps are called acrocordons or flesh moles, which are characterized by their color similar to that of the dermis and by growing in areas where the skin forms folds such as the eyelids, neck or armpits.

Although these types of lumps are harmless, that is, they do not pose a danger to our health, there are many people who find these moles as an aesthetic problem so they look for a way to remove them from their skin. In the following article we will explain how to remove meat moles with both medical treatments and natural remedies. However, before using some of them, it is recommended that you go to the dermatologist to know with certainty that it is a benign mole.

Causes of flesh moles

Flesh moles, also known as acrochordons, is an insensitive and usually harmless bump that occurs in areas of the skin where folds such as the neck, eyelids, and armpits form. This type of moles are characterized by being of a fleshy tone and of a very small size, very similar to that of a grain of rice.

Although these bumps on the skin are mainly generated by an accumulation of collagen, there are also some risk factors for the appearance of flesh moles:

  • Reitarized skin friction: Areas with folds that rub continuously such as the armpits or groin are more likely to develop these bumps.
  • Obesity: having a weight that is above normal can cause skin irritations, which consequently can lead to the appearance of wrinkles and moles.
  • Type 2 diabetes: People who suffer from this disorder or disease are more likely to have these meat moles.
  • Age: it is more common for acrochordons to appear from the age of 70.
  • Pregnancy: Due to hormonal changes, pregnant women can develop these moles.

Medical treatments to remove flesh moles

As we have indicated, flesh moles are benign and harmless lumps or moles so their elimination, in principle, is not necessary for health reasons. However, some people who have these bumps consider them an aesthetic problem so they look for a way to remove them. Next, we will explain the different medical treatments to eliminate flesh moles:

Cryotherapy

One of the most commonly used methods to remove acrochordons is cryotherapy. This treatment involves applying a small amount of liquid nitrogen (an extremely cold substance) to freeze the flesh mole. In this way, the bump comes off the skin appearing in its place a blister that will end up healing naturally.

Electrosurgery

This professional method involves burning or cutting the flesh moles with the use of an electric scalpel. Because in this treatment a needle is injected into the foot and can cause some discomfort, electrosurgery is performed using local anesthesia in the patient.

Surgery

This method is usually used in acrocordons of a larger size and consists of the removal of these protrusions with the use of a scalpel or surgical scissors. As in the previous medical treatment, in surgery local anesthesia is necessary before the operation.

How to remove meat moles with folk remedies

In addition to the above treatments, there are also some natural remedies that help remove flesh moles. Next, we will explain the most used home treatments to remove these bumps:

  • Garlic: this vegetable is ideal for the elimination of moles since its richness in enzymes help to break down the cells responsible for producing pigments. To do this you will have to crush 2 cloves of garlic until a paste is formed and then add a little rock salt. Apply the mixture on the moles, let it act for 30 minutes, and then wash the area with warm water. Use this remedy 3 times daily for 5 days.
  • Pineapple juice: its richness in enzymes such as bromelain make this fruit help eliminate acrochordons effectively. To do this, squeeze a few pieces of pineapple and apply the juice on the polka dots with a few cotton discs until it dries. Use this remedy every day for 2 weeks.
  • Onion juice: this vegetable is considered a good remedy for moles since its richness in acids and sulfur components helps these bumps to come off naturally. Extract the juice from an onion, apply it with some cotton discs and let it act for 40 minutes. Finally remove the juice of this vegetable with plenty of cold water. Repeat this remedy 2 times a day for 3 weeks.
